Immunetrics Appoints CEO PITTSBURGH, Pa. September 24, 2002 Immunetrics Inc., a Pittsburgh-based biomedical startup, said Tuesday it named Steven Chang chief executive officer, effective immediately. Mr. Chang has served as founding CEO of Futuristics Labs Inc., a software firm since acquired by TopicalNet Inc., of Woburn, Mass. He also headed a software development group at Westinghouse/CBS Corp.'s Science and Technology Center in Pittsburgh. Mr. Chang holds bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute, in Renssalaer, N.Y. Immunetrics was established by LaunchCyte L.L.C. of Oakland. Immunetrics has been working with researchers at the University of Pittsburgh to commercialize software to diagnose and treat sepsis, a disease that results from runaway inflammatory response. Immunetrics expects the technology not only to support diagnosis but also to aid in the development of effective treatments.
