B. Herberman, M.D., Joins Advisory Board "Dr. Herberman is widely recognized as a thought leader in cancer research, with specific emphasis related to inflammatory response/immune system." - Steven Chang, Chief Executive Officer, Immunetrics PITTSBURGH, May 13, 2003 - Immunetrics, Inc. (www.immunetrics.com) announced today that Ronald B. Herberman, M.D. has joined the Immunetrics' Advisory Board as Founding Member. He is expected to substantially contribute in the areas of scientific development and business strategy. Immunetrics has developed in silico simulation technology that will capture, for the first time, the complexity of the inflammatory disease response in humans. The Company believes that its technology will accelerate drug discovery for inflammatory indications by enhancing selection of lead compounds and by optimizing clinical-trial design. Immunetrics' three faculty inventors from the University of Pittsburgh were recently featured on the cover of the Spring 2003 issue of Pitt Magazine (http://www.univ-relations.pitt.edu/pittmag/spring2003/feature1.html). "Dr. Herberman is widely recognized as a thought leader in cancer research, with specific emphasis related to inflammatory response/immune system," said Steven Chang, CEO of Immunetrics. "Dr. Herberman's involvement in Immunetrics sets the stage for us in cancer-related drug development and adds an important additional dimension to our ties with the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC." Based on over three years of research licensed exclusively from the University of Pittsburgh, a world leader in intensive care, the Immunetrics technology platform is being offered to pharmaceutical companies as a way of optimizing development of new drugs that combat inflammatory diseases such as sepsis and transplant rejection, in order to help clinicians optimize therapeutic intervention and other treatment options. "Dr. Herberman's
affiliation with Immunetrics significantly fortifies the Company's balance
sheet with intellectual capital," said Tom Petzinger, Jr., Chairman
and CEO of LaunchCyte, which founded and owns a majority interest in Immunetrics. Dr. Herberman earned his B.A. summa cum laude from New York University and his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine.
