Senior Software Engineer

Successful candidates will have:
  • Minimum of BS in Computer Science. Very strong background in algorithms and data structures required.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience spanning all stages of software development cycle. Excellent software design, development, testing, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of C++, Java, and Perl. Will have successfully delivered and maintained large projects written in at least one of these languages.
  • Scientific programming experience strongly recommended.
  • Solid knowledge of programming and basic systems administration in linux environment.
  • Some experience developing with RDBMS.
  • Proven experience designing new systems from scratch as well as maintaining and extending large existing code bases.
  • Proven experience delivering commerical products.
  • Proven experience supervising and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Ability to work with management, scientists, and developers to formulate product / project requirements, create development schedules, and execute them. Must communicate effectively with both very non-technical and very technical team members.
  • Ability to work productively without direct assistance from supervisors.
  • Eagerness to work in a team-oriented, small company environment.

Information Technologist

We are looking for someone who can support our growing computational infrastructure.

  • maintain / troubleshoot computing clusters
  • setup / maintain / troubleshoot VLANs and/or similar networks
  • deal with issues in Linux, networking, and security
  • maintain internal and external servers including websites
  • Perl or similar scripting language
  • data manipulation and analysis through MS Excel, scripting, and SQL

Mathematical Modeler

Job Description:

  • Function as part of a team of mathematical modelers to design and develop mathematical models of complex biological systems
  • Research biological literature and understand biological pathways and physiological processes
  • Analyze clinical data and work with statisticians to perform data analysis
  • Develop and test new models using Immunetrics proprietary platform
  • Perform fits of mathematical models to experimental/clinical data
  • Design and perform clinical trial simulations on Immunetrics proprietary platform
  • Perform routine presentations of recent research and findings
  • Regular meetings with physicians and investigators

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical, Control Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field
  • Experience with the development of mathematical models of biological systems
  • Strong background in computation, especially differential equations and parameter estimation
  • Experience with large mathematical systems is preferred, but not essential
  • Some knowledge of biology is necessary
  • Familiarity with researching biological literature using available tools
  • Some knowledge of statistics is preferred, but not essential
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with physicians and investigators

Statistician/Biostatistician

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review statistical sections of clinical study protocols
  • Design, perform and interpret statistical analyses of clinical data using a variety of mathematical model forms and statistical techniques
  • Perform statistical modeling of study data in conjunction with mathematical modelers
  • Perform sample size and power calculations
  • Effectively manage workload, resources and deliverables within defined time constraints
  • Prepare/present data summaries and statistical analysis results for communication to investigators

Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Biostatistics or Statistics
  • Knowledge of at least one statistical software package (SAS, SPSS, SPLUS etc) is essential
  • Experience with other statistical and graphing software is a plus
  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and grasp new concepts quickly is a must
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work effectively in groups
  • Some knowledge of biology is preferred but not required
  • Experience with clinical data or equivalent data analysis is preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus

Biological Modeler

The purpose of a Biological Modeler is to provide Immunetrics team members with the biological expertise that represents the foundation for the development of Immunetrics models. The primary responsibilities of a Biological Modeler include performing detailed scientific literature searches, developing a broad understanding of molecular biology, physiology, and clinical trial-related concepts, and providing this background and expertise to Immunetrics mathematical modelers. This position does not involve any wet lab work, and requires substantial time spent reading scientific journal articles, answering questions, and preparing background information and data for internal and external presentations. The Biological Modeler will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Immunetrics projects, which involve both academic and pharmaceutical industry collaborations and supporting the planning and execution of clinical studies.

Applicants should have a strong background in molecular/cell biology or physiology. MS or PhD in biology is required. In depth knowledge of the immune system, inflammation, and/or the coagulation cascade is a plus. This position requires excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills. The ability to explain biological concepts to non-biologists is essential. The Biological Modeler will work effectively both independently, as well as in a team setting, and must be open to some travel.
