Basic Research
In addition to human disease models, Immunetrics has mouse, rat, and pig models of sepsis, trauma, and hemorrhagic shock currently being used for academic research.
Immunetrics's roots are in the academic arena, and we have retained basic research collaborations with faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and elsewhere. For these pursuits, we use simplified versions of the models that are ultimately reserved for our pharmaceutical and clinical applications. We have existing mouse, rat, and pig models of sepsis, trauma, and hemorrhagic shock. We use these models to help our collaborators understand the significance of the experimental data that they collect or clarify the importance of novel targets, allowing them to design experiments that best answer key research questions. Human versions of these models have also been used to simulate in silico trials, reproduce the dynamics of inflammation in diverse shock states, and simulate historical clinical trials.
