Biological Modeler

Biological Modelers provide biological expertise that represents the foundation for the development of Immunetrics models. They have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Immunetrics projects, which involve both academic and pharmaceutical industry collaborations, and the support for planning and execution of clinical studies.

Job Description:

  • Perform detailed scientific literature searches, to develop an understanding of molecular biology, immunology, physiology, and clinical trial-related concepts
  • Work in close collaboration with a team of mathematical modelers
  • This position does not involve any wet lab work. It requires substantial time spent searching the scientific literature and reading journal articles in response to specific questions from the mathematical modeling team. This research will vary in scope from fine molecular and experimental details to large concepts in healthy and disease-state physiology.
  • Organize and prepare background information and data for internal and external communications and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in a biology-related field is required.
  • Applicants should have a strong background in molecular/cellular biology, and some understanding of human organ physiology is preferred. In depth knowledge of the immune system, inflammation, and/or the coagulation cascade is a plus.
  • This position requires excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to explain biological concepts to non-biologists is essential.
  • The Biological Modeler will work effectively both independently, as well as in a team setting, and be open to some travel.
